GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Fire Department opened its new Division Avenue Fire Station, Station No. 10, on Tuesday after a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting at 1823 Division Avenue South.

The $12 million project delivers an 18,900-square-foot, three-bay station designed to serve the neighborhood for the next 75 to 100 years. Amenities include private dorm rooms, modern kitchen and dining areas, drive-through apparatus bays, officers quarters, and a fitness room for firefighters.

City leaders and fire personnel marked the debut with remarks from Mayor David LaGrand, City Manager Mark Washington, Fire Chief Brad Brown, city commissioners, and project partners. The station was developed with Integrated Architecture and EV Construction and sits on Division Avenue South between Elm and Rose streets to improve emergency response times.

Fire Chief Brad Brown said the facility strengthens public safety and invests in neighborhood futures by supporting firefighters and the residents who rely on the department every day.

The Grand Rapids Fire Department anchors local fire and EMS coverage citywide, and Station No. 10 adds modern capacity on the Division Avenue corridor where southeast neighborhoods depend on quick turnout.
