# GRPL Friends Book Sale Returns This Weekend Downtown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Friends of the Grand Rapids Public Library Book Sale returns this weekend at Main Library, 111 Library Street NE, with 50-cent general-collection books on Saturday and $5 bag fills on Sunday.

Saturday hours run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17, and Sunday runs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 for shoppers who bring a paper grocery bag. A rare and vintage specialty section is also stocked, and the Friends accept cash, credit cards, and Venmo while restocking through the day.

All proceeds support Grand Rapids Public Libraries. The Friends also run a Book and Gift Shop on Level 3 of Main Library and smaller sale shelves at branches, funded by donated gently used books, movies, magazines, and music.

Organizers updated the sale layout last year after community feedback to make browsing thousands of titles smoother for downtown visitors.

The Main Library sale lands ahead of a long Michigan winter reading season and holiday gifting, with volunteers directing shoppers through the refreshed floor plan at 111 Library Street Northeast.
