GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Pro volleyball returns to downtown Grand Rapids on Thursday, Jan. 7, when the Grand Rapids Rise host the Orlando Valkyries at Van Andel Arena to start their fourth season in Major League Volleyball.

The team released its full 2027 slate Friday. The Rise will play 26 regular-season matches, half of them at Van Andel Arena, and the season ends April 24 with a road match in Atlanta. Seven of the home dates fall on weekends, and the longest stretch at home is three matches from April 4 to 10.

The league grows to 12 teams in 2027, and the Rise land in the Eastern Conference with Atlanta, Columbus, Orlando, Indy and the new DC franchise. All four expansion clubs visit Grand Rapids once, beginning with Minnesota on Jan. 28. The DC club follows in late February, Los Angeles comes in in March and NorCal closes that run in April. Reigning league champion Dallas comes to town Feb. 26.

The opener is billed as a red-out night, and the first 1,500 fans through the doors will get a red team T-shirt.

Season tickets and group packages are on sale now. Single-match tickets, including the opener, go on sale Nov. 12.
