Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids will host a major exhibition titled ‘CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens’ from May to November. This event features renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly’s iconic works, marking the third showcase of his art at the gardens. Grand Rapids, Michigan – Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park has announced the opening of a major exhibition titled “CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens,” which is set to commence on May 1, 2026, and will run through November 1, 2026. This upcoming showcase will mark the third time renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly’s work has been featured at the gardens, following previous exhibitions in 2002 and 2010.
The exhibition is presented by Macatawa Bank, a subsidiary of Wintrust Community Bank. The event aims to offer a vibrant and immersive experience for visitors of all ages, highlighting Chihuly’s dynamic range and artistic creativity through both outdoor gardens and indoor galleries. The event proposes to transform the landscape of Meijer Gardens into a colorful celebration of Chihuly’s work. Monuments outdoor installations will include his towering glass sculptures, striking reeds, and various site-specific artworks that harmonize with the natural environment of the gardens.
This exhibition will celebrate over four decades of Dale Chihuly’s artistic evolution, with a rich survey featuring some of his most iconic works including phases such as Baskets, Macchia, Seaforms, Putti, Ikebana, Persians, Venetians, Cylinders, and Rotolo. In addition to the large-scale installations, original drawings by Chihuly will also be displayed, offering visitors a glimpse into the creative process behind his intricate glass pieces.
