The new Cottage Inn Pizza location bringing excitement to downtown Grand Rapids.
Cottage Inn Pizza is set to open a new downtown location by May 2025, attracting pizza enthusiasts. The prime spot on Ionia Avenue SW will undergo renovations to create a modern atmosphere. This will be the chain’s second location in Grand Rapids, expanding its menu and late-night offerings, as franchisees plan further growth in the region and beyond.
Grand Rapids is about to get another slice of deliciousness! Cottage Inn Pizza, a beloved pizza chain, has announced plans to open a new location in the heart of downtown by May 2025. This delightful news was shared recently on social media by Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., leaving many locals buzzing with anticipation.
The new Cottage Inn will be situated on Ionia Avenue SW, nestled between Fulton Street and Weston Street, just a stone’s throw from the popular Van Andel Arena. This location was previously home to Daisies Place, but come March 2025, renovation work will begin to breathe new life into the 2,500-square-foot space.
For those who might not know, this will be the second Cottage Inn location in Grand Rapids, following the successful spot on Wealthy Street and Lake Drive in Eastown. The Eastown Cafe has made quite a name for itself, ranking among the top 10 performers out of roughly 65 locations across the franchise. With so much success already, it’s no wonder that the owners are looking to expand their presence in the area!
So what can hungry customers expect? The new location will feature a menu filled with mouth-watering options including pizza, subs, wings, and other tasty items. Plus, to cater to the late-night crowd, Cottage Inn will stay open until 3 a.m., offering the opportunity for delicious pizza by the slice – perfect for those late-night cravings!
Renovations will bring a modern touch to the venue, with an investment of around $350,000 earmarked for upgrades such as new flooring, kitchen equipment, cozy booths, comfortable seating, and a fresh coat of paint. The aim is to create a welcoming environment that will entice both visitors and locals alike.
The new Cottage Inn is strategically located to draw in visitors looking to grab a bite before or after shows at the Van Andel Arena, as well as local office workers on their lunch breaks. This location is ideal for both residents and those visiting the city, which should translate to a steady stream of customers.
The franchisees, JD Witherell and James Comiskey, have signed a 10-year lease for this location, showing their commitment to making this new venture a success. And that’s not all – they also have their sights set on opening another Cottage Inn restaurant in the Grand Rapids area later this year, particularly looking towards the city’s west side.
But Cottage Inn isn’t stopping there! The franchise is in the process of developing a total of eight new locations across Michigan, with three or four expected to open within the next month. The recent expansion is largely credited to Christina Narra, who purchased the brand in 2023. Her vision for growth is clearly paying off!
Not only does Cottage Inn have plans to expand within Michigan, but they are also looking to spread their delicious offerings further afield into states like Indiana and Ohio. With locations already operating in South Bend and Columbus, it looks like the future is bright for this popular pizza chain.
So mark your calendars for May 2025, because Grand Rapids is in for a treat with the arrival of Cottage Inn Pizza in downtown! More pizza, more options, and plenty of late-night munchies – what could be better?
