Grand Rapids – In a remarkable achievement, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park has claimed six awards in the annual Best of Grand Rapids readers’ survey, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination in the region. The survey collects feedback from the community about their favorite local establishments, and this year, the Gardens stood out, especially as it celebrates its significant 30th anniversary.
The awards were announced ahead of a celebratory event scheduled for May 9 at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids, where all the winners will be honored. Frederik Meijer Gardens has proven to be a beloved venue, winning in several prestigious categories including Best Date Night Venue, Best Museum, Best Live Music Venue, Best Wedding Venue, Best Local Music Series, and Best Tourist Attraction.
Under the leadership of President & CEO Charles Burke, who took the helm in 2023, the Gardens has continued to enhance its offerings and community engagement. The venue boasts over 200 sculptures and attracts more than 850,000 visitors annually, making it a vital part of Grand Rapids’ cultural landscape. Mitten Brewing garnered titles for Best Pizza and Best Beer, highlighting the local food and beverage scene’s vibrant options. Additionally, Chef Jenna Arcidiacono from Amore Trattoria Italiana was celebrated as Best Chef and won recognition for her Best Pasta.
