HEREGrandRapids’ golf desk covers every course, every tournament, and every story relevant to golf in Grand Rapids, Kent County, and the wider West Michigan region. Kent County sits at the heart of one of the most active golf markets in the state — anchored by the historic Kent Country Club (1899, a private layout designed by Walter Travis), Egypt Valley Country Club, Watermark Country Club, Cascade Hills Country Club, and Blythefield Country Club (a longtime host of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give on the LPGA Tour), alongside a deep public rotation including The Mines Golf Course, Thousand Oaks, Grand Rapids Haven Golf Club on the lakeshore, and Stonewater Country Club.

Tournament coverage tracks the Meijer LPGA Classic each summer at Blythefield, Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) events hosted across Kent and Ottawa counties, Grand Rapids Valley State University, Calvin, Aquinas, and GRCC men’s and women’s golf, junior PGA Michigan events, Michigan Open and Michigan Amateur qualifiers, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division I, II, III, and IV regional and state golf calendars for the Grand Rapids–area programs (Forest Hills Central, Forest Hills Northern, Forest Hills Eastern, East Grand Rapids, Catholic Central, West Catholic, Northview, Rockford, Caledonia, and the Wyoming, Kentwood, and Grandville public schools). Coverage also tracks course-condition reports after Michigan weather events, club-pro hires, course renovations, and the small-business sponsorships flowing to junior-golf programs across Kent County.
