Ensuring safety on campus at Grand Rapids Community College.
The Grand Rapids Community College has experienced a series of incidents this January, ranging from minor accidents to thefts and disorderly conduct. Reports indicate mishaps involving patrol vehicles, graffiti, and parking gate issues, alongside student concerns over theft and uncomfortable interactions. Access to detailed reports now requires Freedom of Information Act requests, underlining the importance of safety and community vigilance on campus.
Grand Rapids, Michigan – It looks like the first weeks of January have been eventful for the campus community at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC). The police department has had a flurry of activities with various incidents reported, from minor accidents to some more serious matters. However, getting access to the details has become a bit more complicated since the department now requires Freedom of Information Act requests to retrieve their reports.
On January 4 at around 9:25 a.m., one of the campus police officers had a little mishap with her patrol vehicle. While patrolling, she accidentally bumped into a concrete barrier located in Ramp B. Thankfully, the incident led to just a minor pre-existing dent on her bumper, but it definitely highlights how those pesky barriers can surprise even the best of us!
