The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist letters to six online gambling platforms operating without state authorization. Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has taken significant enforcement action against six online gambling platforms operating without state authorization, marking a critical step in protecting consumers from potential risks associated with unregulated gambling activities.
The MGCB issued cease-and-desist letters to the platforms known as Crypto Slots, NitroBetting, NewVegas, Las Vegas USA Casino, Grand Rush Casino, and Slotgard Casino. This action aims to safeguard Michigan consumers from financial exploitation, identity theft, and deceptive gaming practices.
Operating without a license is a violation of Michigan laws governing internet gaming and sports betting. The MGCB has determined that all six sites were in breach of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Lawful Sports Betting Act, and relevant provisions of the Michigan Penal Code.
Henry Williams, the MGCB Executive Director, highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that unauthorized operators expose players to significant risks, including the potential for unfair play and the absence of consumer protections.
