Wyoming, MI – A new 84-unit senior living facility is currently under construction at 4051 Del Mar Drive SW in Wyoming, a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Developed by Encore Senior Living, a company recognized for its focus on senior living communities throughout the Midwest, the project began construction in May 2025 and is expected to complete by October 2026. The total cost of the facility is projected at $16 million.

The new facility will span 71,000 square feet and will consist of two main wings. The first wing will be dedicated to assisted living and will feature 52 assisted living units, which will consist of a mix of one-bedroom and studio apartments. These units are specifically designed for seniors who require assistance with basic daily activities, such as meals and medication management. Each unit will include a private bathroom, with studio apartments providing space for a bed, seating area, and kitchenette, while the one-bedroom units are intended to accommodate couples.

The second wing of the facility will house 32 memory care units tailored for adults suffering from dementia and requiring more secure, supervised care. The design of the memory care wing will emphasize structured activities and programming to engage residents meaningfully and ensure safety.

A range of amenities is planned for both wings of the facility, including a spa, salon, and sunrooms. In addition to these features, residents will have access to several common areas, such as a library, an arts and crafts center, and outdoor courtyards with gazebos, providing environments conducive to both relaxation and social engagement.

This new development marks the fourth senior living community established by Encore Senior Living in Michigan, joining its existing locations in Delta, Auburn Hills, and Sterling Heights. Currently, the company is preparing for leasing opportunities expected to become available in early fall 2025. While pricing details for the units are still being finalized, interested parties can join a waitlist on Encore Senior Living’s website.

The need for such facilities is rising as the population of seniors continues to grow in the United States, with more individuals seeking specialized living arrangements that cater to their changing needs. Senior living communities like the one being constructed in Wyoming aim to provide safe and supportive environments for seniors to live independently while receiving the assistance they may require.
