GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A federal judge has sentenced Cordairo Aqtavian Lambert, 39, of Grand Rapids to 20 years in prison for possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan announced Tuesday.
Investigators tied Lambert to drug parcels shipped through the mail from Arizona to Grand Rapids. Investigators first picked up the trail in July 2024, when postal inspectors in Arizona opened a package bound for a Grand Rapids home and found more than half a kilogram of cocaine. Surveillance video showed Lambert sending it.
A year later, in July 2025, two packages were delivered under police watch to homes about seven blocks apart on the city’s southeast side. Officers saw Lambert leave a house on Delaware Street SE with one, and he ran before being taken into custody. The two parcels held 1,342 grams of cocaine, roughly 3 pounds, packed with items such as dryer sheets and candy.
A federal jury convicted him over the summer. Along with the prison term, he was ordered to serve eight years of supervised release. He already had earlier state and federal drug and gun convictions.
U.S. Attorney Timothy VerHey, whose Western District of Michigan office prosecuted the case, called Lambert a repeat dealer who never accepted blame. Grand Rapids police officers made the 2025 arrest.
