GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Cordairo Lambert, a 39-year-old Grand Rapids man, is headed to federal prison for two decades after a trial that traced cocaine packages shipped from Arizona back to him.
Federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan handled the case, which drew a 20-year term for possessing cocaine with plans to sell it.
Their probe began in July 2024. Postal inspectors working in Arizona opened a box bound for a Grand Rapids address and found well over half a kilogram of the drug. Camera footage then showed Lambert handing that box off to the mail in Arizona.
Trial evidence also showed his many Arizona trips, some with border crossings into Mexico, lined up with the dates other suspicious packages were shipped.
In July 2025 he went to a house on the southeast side of the city to collect a second box with close to two-thirds of a kilogram of cocaine. He ran when a city officer moved in, hid among nearby homes, then surrendered.
Lambert’s record already held felony convictions for drug dealing and weapons in both state and federal courts, U.S. Attorney Timothy VerHey’s office said.
