GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Downtown Grand Rapids will host a No Kings: Vote Early gathering from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Rosa Parks Circle, 135 Monroe Center St. NW.

The local event is one of dozens planned across Michigan that day as organizers shift from street protests to a push for early voting ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. The Michigan Freedom Coalition first announced 75 events, a count that grew to 78 by a Tuesday news conference, with stops in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Traverse City, Muskegon and Battle Creek.

Organizers said the events will focus on voter registration, early voting and helping residents understand their options. They said the gatherings are nonpartisan and will not feature political candidates, though elected officials may appear in their official roles.
