GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A total of 3,943 runners crossed the finish line Sunday as the Grand Rapids Marathon, presented by University of Michigan Health-West, wrapped up its 2026 edition, official results show.
The half marathon remained the biggest draw, with 1,891 finishers, close to double the 987 who completed it in 2021. Half of that field was done in 2:07:01, a shade quicker than the 2:08:55 median from five years ago.
In the full 26.2 miles, the middle finisher came in at 4:08:48, and anyone under 3:14:07 placed in the top 10%. Runners needed 3:39:58 or better to land in the fastest quarter of the field, roughly in line with a typical Michigan marathon.
The Run Thru the Rapids 10K had a median time of 1:02:59, with the quickest tenth of its runners finishing in 49:14 or less.
The race lists its start at 475 Lake Michigan Drive NW on the city’s west side. More local road races follow soon, including an Oct. 24 Zombie Dash 5K that starts at Sixth Street Bridge Park.
