GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids-based Northpointe Bank told state labor officials on Nov. 4 that 338 jobs across three sites, including headquarters here, are listed for a Dec. 31 separation under a WARN filing.
A 28th Street office is among the locations named. Federal WARN rules ordinarily call for about two months of advance notice before a covered mass layoff.
The notice lands after Northpointe struck a late-October pact, dated Oct. 26, to move its branch and direct-to-consumer loan desks over to CMG Financial, with closing targeted by the end of November. Coverage of the filing says CMG would pay the bank 0.15 percent on first-lien loans booked through those channels through the end of 2028 and is expected to extend job offers to many of the people on the list.
A WARN compilation site that tracks state notices lists the same Nov. 4 Michigan filing for 338 workers in Grand Rapids and DeWitt with a Dec. 31, 2026 effective date. It also tallies two Northpointe notices in two states covering 339 workers overall, with Michigan carrying nearly all of them.
People named in the notice keep pay and benefits until that date unless they move into other roles. How many of the 338 seats actually disappear will hinge on CMG hiring and on whether Northpointe retains anyone elsewhere before year-end.
