ROSEMONT, Ill. — Five different Grand Rapids Griffins found the net on Sunday, Nov. 1, and the club rolled past the Chicago Wolves 5-1 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont to keep its run of games with a point going at seven.
Chicago came in hot, riding a five-game winning streak after a 6-3 win over the Texas Stars a night earlier, and had won five of its first six home games. Grand Rapids shut that down early.
Chase Stillman scored his first goal as a Griffin 4:34 into the game. A Chicago goal later in the first was wiped out when a Griffins challenge showed the Wolves were offside. Carter Bear doubled the lead late in the second and finished with a goal and two assists, giving him nine points in nine games.
Noah Dower Nilsson scored his first AHL goal on a third-period power play, Dominik Shine added his fifth of the season, and Kienan Draper capped it with an empty-netter for his first pro goal. Charlie Cerrato scored the lone Chicago goal.
Goalie Michal Postava stopped 25 shots and improved to 5-0, back in the Grand Rapids crease after a two-game stretch with the Detroit Red Wings. Grand Rapids outshot Chicago 33-26.
