GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Detroit pulled Grand Rapids Griffins netminder Michal Postava back to the NHL on an emergency recall and shifted defenseman Albert Johansson to injured reserve with the move dating to Oct. 24.
The 24-year-old claimed his first NHL victory Oct. 26 in Edmonton after 24 stops before the shootout, then denying all three attempts. His first NHL appearance came in relief Oct. 22 at Vancouver, when he stopped seven of eight shots.
In five Griffins starts this season he is unbeaten at 5-0 with a 1.20 goals-against mark and a .955 save rate. League honors followed October’s 4-0 run, a 1.25 goals-against mark and a .954 save rate that earned him AHL Goaltender of the Month.
Grand Rapids also noted he took Howies Hockey Tape weekly honors for the stretch ending Oct. 11. Over 30 AHL regular-season games with the Griffins he sits 22-6-0 with a 1.62 goals-against mark and a .940 save rate.
Detroit signed him without a draft pick on June 10, 2025.
