GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont will campaign in Grand Rapids on Sunday, Oct. 25, alongside Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat.
The event, billed as a Michigan First rally, is set for 6:30 p.m. at DeVos Performance Hall, 303 Monroe Ave. NW. Doors open two hours earlier. Organizers say no ticket is needed, though they are asking people to RSVP.
The Grand Rapids stop opens a three-city swing for Sanders, an independent. He heads to Alpena on Monday afternoon and then to the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor for a town hall that evening. All three events are slated to stream on his social media accounts.
El-Sayed faces Republican nominee Mike Rogers, a former congressman, on Nov. 3. In-person early voting across Michigan starts Saturday.
